We made this community garden from scratch. Funded by the NSW Environmental Trust we worked in collaboration with Bellingen Community Garden Association, and Bellingen EYE and Centre for Ecological Learning.

 

Liaising with the school, students and wider community this nutgrass infested paddock was turned productive food gardens available to the whole community. This design incorporated a Permaculture food forest approach as well as abundant perennial and annual organic food and weekly student gardening and cooking classes.

 

The garden also designed to be spacious, beautiful and relaxing – a quiet space for students.
